A season of learning rooted in everyday experiences. Now welcoming a small number of families to Rambling Roots Academy.
About Rambling Roots Academy
RRA is an intentionally small early learning community for children ages 2–6, created for families who value curiosity, play, and meaningful everyday experiences.
Inspired by Montessori and Reggio approaches, our program balances thoughtful structure with the freedom to explore. Educators prepare inviting environments, observe closely, and respond to children’s interests with care and intention, allowing learning to unfold naturally through play, conversation, and hands-on discovery.
Learning at RRA is woven into daily life. Children explore both indoor spaces and our backyard environment, work with natural materials, observe seasonal changes, and care for living things such as plants, hens, and bunnies. These experiences nurture responsibility, empathy, and a growing connection to the world around them.
Curiosity guides our days. Monthly themes provide a flexible framework for learning, while Reggio-inspired practices allow us to follow children’s questions and interests when they lead us in new directions. Alongside this exploration, children are supported in developing strong foundations in early literacy, math, communication, and problem-solving through play and real-life application.
Through everyday experiences, shared responsibility, and thoughtful exploration at RRA, children grow in confidence, independence, and a genuine sense of belonging.
RRA is guided by a small teaching team deeply committed to honoring childhood. Through close relationships, intentional guidance, and a child-led approach, we create a nurturing environment where children feel supported as they explore and grow.
With over 12 years of experience in early childhood education, Ms. Grace brings a deep passion for child-led, hands-on learning rooted in Montessori principles and real-world experiences. After moving to the Lowcountry from the Chicago suburbs, she combined her love of teaching, animals, and nature to create Rambling Roots Academy—a place where children feel valued, curious, and free to explore.
Ms. Grace and her co-teacher, Ms. Kylie, share a strong partnership and a vision for joyful, meaningful education. Together, they create a nurturing space where every child can grow in confidence, wonder, and connection.
Ms. Kylie is an enthusiastic early childhood educator with a passion for nurturing young minds. Growing up in South Carolina, she developed a love for teaching and caring for children that began with seven years of babysitting. This hands-on experience laid a solid foundation for her role as the Head of Childcare for two years, where she honed her leadership skills and deepened her understanding of child development.
For the past two years, Ms. Kylie has been teaching at a Montessori preschool, embracing the philosophy of fostering independence and creativity in children. Currently, she is pursuing an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Development to further enhance her knowledge and skills in the field.
In addition to her dedication to education, Ms. Kylie is a proud pet owner, sharing a home with three dogs, two cats, and two lizards. She believes that a nurturing environment, whether in the classroom or at home, is essential for growth and learning.
Ms. Kylie is excited to continue inspiring young learners and looks forward to creating a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
